CSM Guitar Teacher Stevie with his Band 'Overhead, the Albatross'

Overhead, The Albatross - Our very own Stevie Darragh and his band are just back after being invited to perform at a prestigious music festival in Canada.
They write all their own songs and their energy on stage is electrifying.

Our ever popular Busy Babies Classes (6 months - 24 months) 


Day: Wednesdays

Time: 1.40 - 2.10pm

Trial Classes are available subject to availability: Cost is €10.00 payable at reception. If you wish to enrol afterwards, only the balance of the term fee is required: €78.00. 

Busy Babies is a fun and educational music class and offers:

  • Shared quality musical experiences between parent / guardian and child
  • New and innovative ways of interacting and bonding with your child
  • Simple songs to develop child’s sense of pitch, language skills and vocabulary
  • Percussion instruments and activities to develop a sense of pulse and rhythm
  • Activities to develop small and gross motor movement and coordination
  • Activities to develop aural and listening skills
  • Activities to develop understanding of musical elements
  • Puppets to stimulate anticipation and singing response
  • Musical games / activities to develop pulse, rhythm and coordination
  • A socially interactive and musical environment for parent / guardian and child
  • Listening / Responding to music imaginatively and creatively.
  • Songs and activities can be an integral part of daily routine at home

Congratulations to 2nd Year Student Niamh Byrne - 2015 Recipient of the CSM Music Scholarship Awarded Annually to Castleknock Community College

The CSM Annual Scholarship Award to a student of Castleknock Community College is now in its 8th Year. The award is to a student of CCC and the music department of CCC invite proposals from students detailing why they feel they should be the recipient. There are lots of entries and strong competition for this much coveted year of music tuition in the student's chosen instrument and also musicianship theory for the fortunate recipient. 

We are delighted to announce that this year, Castleknock Community College's Music Department have awarded the CSM Scholarship to Niamh Byrne, 2nd Year Student at CCC.

Niamh has already been studying the Guitar and will continue her musical development with Guitar Teacher Stevie Darragh, a very fine and popular teacher of guitar at the school here. She is also going to study Musicianship / Theory with Mr. Ronan Dikker, our committed percussion / piano & theory teacher. Both teachers are really looking forward to teaching this most enthusiastic student. Niamh is absolutely delighted as are her parents and she is very excited about meeting her new teachers. 

We would like to congratulate Niamh on her achievement in securing this scholarship and wish her every success for the year ahead.

CSM Celebrating 21st Birthday 2015-2016

CSM Team are happy to announce that we are fast approaching our 21st Birthday in Music Education & Serving the Community. And what a fantastic start to our 21st birthday with the move into the fantastic new building at Castleknock Community College. Our top quality pianos: Petrof's, Kawai's and Yamaha's have now been moved into the new classrooms and they seem to be very happy in their new home. Stefan Claude, our piano tuner of many years is patiently waiting in the wings while he allows them to settle in before fine tuning them for our classes throughout the year.

The new gymnasium and classrooms are state-of-the-art fab and it's full credit to Principal John Cronin, staff, architects & builders for an amazing job well done.


CSM Instrumental & Musicianship Theory Classes resume on Monday 7th September 2015.
